Help Bamboo Foundation Gambia Turn Support Into Real, Visible Change
Growing Change
If you’re on this page, you already care about something that matters: cleaner communities, less plastic pollution, and real opportunities for families in The Gambia.
At Bamboo Foundation Gambia, we believe something simple: a healthier environment and a stable livelihood must grow together. That’s why we build bamboo nurseries, deliver hands-on training, and support community programs that people can maintain long after the first planting day.
Your support keeps the work moving — steadily, transparently, and with results you can see.
Safe and official: Bamboo Foundation Gambia is registered with the Gambia Revenue Authority (GRA) and holds a valid Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN).

Plastic Reduction & Microplastic Prevention
By promoting bamboo-based alternatives and reducing open plastic burning, we actively help lower pollution and long-term microplastic contamination.

Sustainable Local Income
We create practical income pathways through nursery development, hands-on training, and locally managed bamboo production systems.

Regenerative Land & Soil Health
We restore degraded land through structured bamboo cultivation, improving soil stability, reducing erosion, and strengthening local ecosystems.

Cleaner Water Systems
Bamboo strengthens land resilience, protects soil moisture, and supports communities in adapting to climate stress through renewable natural systems.
I embrace responsibility, because it’s the only way change becomes real. Thank you for walking with us.

Certificate of Incorporation
The Certificate of Incorporation is one of the most important legal documents behind Bamboo Foundation Gambia. It confirms that The Bamboo Foundation Gambia (BFG) was officially incorporated in The Gambia on July 17, 2017, under the Companies Act 2013, as a charitable organisation (association/foundation).
For donors, this document matters because it provides something essential that every serious charitable organisation must be able to show: a real, verifiable legal foundation. Bamboo Foundation Gambia is not an informal personal initiative, not a temporary idea, and not a project operating without structure. It is a legally incorporated charitable organisation with an official identity under Gambian law. That legal status is a key part of credibility, accountability, and long-term trust.
In practical terms, the Certificate of Incorporation confirms that Bamboo Foundation Gambia exists as a recognized organisation in its own right. It shows that the foundation was formally established, officially registered, and built on a lawful structure rather than on private arrangements or personal claims. For supporters, this distinction is important. Donors deserve to know that the organisation they support is not merely asking for confidence, but is able to present clear proof of its legal existence and formal foundation.
This document also strengthens trust because it reflects seriousness of purpose. Organisations that are committed to long-term impact do not rely on vague intentions alone. They build on structure, documentation, and legal recognition. The Certificate of Incorporation is part of that structure. It shows that Bamboo Foundation Gambia was created to operate with continuity, responsibility, and a clear organizational basis for its work in The Gambia.
We share this document because transparency is not optional. It is part of responsible stewardship. Anyone who donates to Bamboo Foundation Gambia should be able to see that the organisation stands on a legitimate legal foundation and has a documented registration history. In a world where many projects ask for trust without offering evidence, we believe it is important to show the official framework behind our mission.
For us, this certificate represents more than registration. It represents legitimacy, commitment, and accountability. It is a visible sign that Bamboo Foundation Gambia was established not as a short-term initiative, but as a serious charitable organisation with the intention to create lasting impact. It gives donors, partners, and supporters an important level of assurance that the work they are backing is rooted in a lawful and formally recognized structure.
When you support Bamboo Foundation Gambia, you are supporting a legally incorporated charitable organisation with an official and verifiable presence in The Gambia. That does not replace trust — but it strengthens it. And real trust is one of the most important foundations for meaningful, long-term impact.
Introduced Our Campaigns
Our work to reduce plastic waste and build bamboo-based solutions
Plastic pollution and microplastics are not “just an environmental issue” — they affect soil, water, food security, and health. Bamboo Foundation Gambia turns action into progress: nurseries, training, and practical alternatives that communities can own and scale.
TAKE ACTION
What does my money actually do?
Here’s the straight answer — your support helps fund essentials like:
nursery materials and basic infrastructure (shade, tools, irrigation basics where needed)
seedlings and propagation supplies
training delivery and local coordination
transport of materials and plants
maintenance and follow-up (the difference between success and failure)
documentation so progress stays transparent
This is the unglamorous part — and it’s exactly what determines whether a project lasts.
Unlike most timber trees that take decades, many bamboo species reach maturity in 3–5 years, allowing continuous carbon uptake and sustainable harvest cycles.
Up to 60–100 t CO₂ per hectare per year
A hectare of bamboo can sequester between about 60 and 100 tonnes of CO₂ annually, depending on species and management — significantly more than many conventional forests.
Rapid Carbon Uptake (10–30 t CO₂/ha/year)
Even under average conditions, a bamboo plantation can absorb 10–30 tonnes of CO₂ per hectare each year, often surpassing typical tree forests.
3–4× More Carbon Sequestration Potential
Compared to many tree species, bamboo can sequester up to 3–4 times more carbon, thanks to its exceptionally fast growth and efficient biomass accumulation.
Fast Establishment: Harvest Cycle 3–5 Years
